Calculate the real leaf weight

Use the finished door construction, not a nominal estimate. Include glazing, ironmongery and applied finishes where relevant.

Verify the head structure

Heavy top-hung doors need a designed support condition. Confirm the structural member and fixing method before finalising the system.

Consider duty cycle

High-use openings may need a more robust roller and stop arrangement than an occasional-use door of the same weight.
